I stood here chatting to the lady farmer as she watched and directed the digger driver,cleaning overgrown trees and weeds from the adjacent overgrown ditch.She pointed out the roof of her farmhouse,atop the brae.She took great pride in her Ayrshire cows,in the adjacent field.But,she said,the land is poor quality,with equal returns.She reckoned it was very hard work,to turn a profit.
