The Roman Road short cut, from Crawford to Abington.

I've often wondered why the Romans took a detour over this col, but there is a reasonable distance lost,in going this way.That and the view from the col is really special.
From the lefthand edge of the trees,on the right,an angled light coloured line can be traced to a reddish-brown clump.From there the road went straight up the slope to the top of the reddy-brown area.From there it went horizontally to the right,before rounding up to the heights,sadly out of view,to the col.
