Yes,for no obvious reason,the path turned away from the river to scale the steep banking.In fact,the footpath doesn't go up the bank,only the bridleway,which runs from Julien Bowers Fm, to Temple Sowerby, ascends the bluff.The view afforded by climbing the bluff,is truly worthwhile.
