At the top end of this section of Roman Road,it seems likely that the packed pebble surface is probably original,and on the northern side of the Road,that the obvious steep camber and ditch could well be original.IMHO.
This Roman Road ran from London to join Stane Street, near modern Great Dunmow.Stane Street being the Saxon name for the Roman Road from Braughing to Colchester.
