White Water Rafting in Kitaluga, Sri Lanka (December 2010)
If you're looking for an action-packed adventure when in Sri Lanka, there are numerous rapids that are excellent for white water rafting. Kitulgala's Kelani River (one of the main river's of Sri Lanka) is one of the most popular rivers for white water rafting. The Kelani River is made more famous since the bridge that was built for the film set of "The Bridge over the River Kwai" (1957) is located there (the real one is in Burma). The Kelani River’s rock strewn sections and rapids are ideal for white water rafting and thrill seekers who seek adventure while in Sri Lanka. I highly recommend it.

We wound up in the Kitulgala River after our raft tipped over.
I have to commend Kumara for his bravery, since he did not know how to swim!
At the end of the run, we piled the rafts on the top of a truck and rode back to our starting point.
That's me sitting in back and Kumara standing on the roof.
