Embarkation in Vancouver, B.C. and Cruise Ship Photos (June 2011)

Map showing the cruise route with the star indicating Vancouver, B.C.
While in Vancouver, we stayed in the Sylvia Hotel located on English Bay, beside Stanley Park.
It is a designated heritage building that was built in 1912.
The terra-cotta exterior of the Sylvia Hotel is cover with Virginia creeper vines, giving it even more character.
W.P. White, a Seattle architect, designed the building as the Sylvia Court Apartments. In 1936 it was converted into a hotel.
This beautiful hanging basket adorned the lamp post outside of the hotel.
Next to the Sylvia Hotel along English Bay and Stanley Park were these statues by Chinese artist Yue Minjun.
Notice the little girl running up to the statues.
She looks tiny next to the statues! They were an exhibit for the Vancouver Biennale.

View of the Vancouver skyline as we left Vancouver harbor.
The skyline was much smaller as we cruised away from the harbor.
