Lucky Bug, (Bug for short), is our sixth, and final, cat. He came to us August 7 2002. He nearly didn't make it.


It all started innocently enough. We were on our way to go grocery shopping that morning. Suddenly the bus in front of us slammed on the brakes, so of course I do likewise. We couldn't figure out why this happened until I saw a little black ball of fur run from in front of the bus. Luckily traffic on the opposite side of the road also stopped. The little one was in a complete state of panic, running back and forth with his belly to the ground and meowing as loud as he could. I saw him heading for my car so I reached a hand down in the hopes of being able to stop him. Well, he never came through. A lady who had also gotten out of her car came over and told me he was under my car. I got out to look, but saw no signs of the little one. I could hear him meowing, but just couldn't find him. Until I started to stand up. There he was, in the wheel well with huge eyes and an even huger mouth. I managed to get him out with very little fuss. We turned around to take him home for the time being thinking that we would be able to find a home for him. Little did we know, he had already found a purrfectly good home and wasn't going anywhere.


He has a VERY healthy set of lungs in him :), and he must have excellent eye sight to have been able to see the sign "sucker" on our foreheads
