I have seen these birds close up while tagging them. They are incredibly beautiful. Your photography displays this remarkable beauty better than anything else I have seen.

very beautiful picture,
I got to this site by chance, via info on today's IDG Central, Photo of the day, reading "Red-tailed hawks near Framingham, Mass., offices draw employee birdwatchers and photographers". Now IDC's employee in Kazakhstan got a chance of "bird watchingwonder", across Atlantics and Eurasia continent :).
Here in KZ there are a lot of amaizing birds of pray but in Almaty region they can be found only in high mountains or other areas, where they can be (relatively) safe from that nasty human beings that do not watch but pray, poach, catch, shot them, :(.
I saw hawks only few times near my home, that is situated at the southern bountaries of Almaty, very close to the mountains. I guess no hawks deeper into the city's downtown area.
