ANTARCTICA - 2007

These images were captured as part of a Photographic Expedition led by Michael Reichmann to the Falkland Islands (Las Malvinas), South Georgia, South Orkneys, the peninsula of Antarctica and points in between in February, 2007.
Although a particularly big wave early in the trip caused me to be thrown across the room and suffer a fractured sternum, it was a wonderful adventure. Experiencing this awesome area and its natural inhabitants is enough to make you forget all kinds of pain :-))

I am just stunned by the beauty of these photos, all the penguins and the blue ice. How gorgeous. What a beautiful vision you have and a gift for using a camera to capture it.

Las Malvinas is the SPANISH LANGUAGE version, not the Argentinian version; the Falkland Islands is the ENGLISH LANGUAGE version, not the British version. So lighten up and enjoy the photos :-))

You know, some of your photos are really good, but referring to the "Malvinas" is pretty insulting to men who died retaking the islands from a murderous military dictatorship.

Notice that Britain acquired those then-unpopulated islands when Argentina was merely an colony of Spain. The inhabitants there have been there for generations since. Do they have no rights of self-determination? How much of the continental USA do you think should be handed back to Mexico?

No doubt the big wave also affected your judgement.

PLease note the islands are the FALKLANDS not the Argentine version!!!!
Many Britsh Soldiers lost their lives defending democracy there 25 years ago!!!!
