Installating the Pivot Racing Shift-Up Indicator

If you do any type of racing (hopefully, legal), you'll know that keeping an eye on the road is important. However, you also want maximum acceleration. So how do you shift at the optimum rpm without taking your eyes off the road/course? With a BIG RED LIGHT BLINDING YOU UNTIL YOU SHIFT! :)

Vehicle Application:
-'96 to '98 Honda Civic

Installer:

You'll need to tap into the Tach wiring. Start by removing the bezel

After removing the top 2 screws, tug the bezel towards you to release the retaining clip
After removing the top 2 screws, tug the bezel towards you to release the retaining clip
There are 4 screws holding the guage in place. 2 Lower and 2 upper

Once you removed all the screws, pull the guage out and unplug the harnesses. REMEMBER WHICH HARNESS GOES WHERE!

You can mount your control unit anywhere you like. I mounted mine in the glove box to be out of sight.

Using a wire clothes hanger, I fed the Tach wire (white) behind the dash.

Tap into the Blue wire on large OEM harness.

Next, you'll need constant 12volt, and an ignition power feed. You can locate the wires behind the cigerette lighter panel.

Red=Ignition taps into the Yellow/Red wire; Orange=constant taps into White/Blue

Lastly, you can use an existing ground (also behind the lighter panel)

Finished install. Of course, your mounting location is your preference.
