All of you have seen this 2007 picture of a wreath I made for my front door.
This year I just cleaned and added a few more flowers and up she went for the 2008 season.
The wreath is made from grape vines you add what you want to and anyone is an instant artist.
I have a large patio wrapping around three sides of the house, so I have to plant lots of flowers in the urns and also lots of bird feeders around. So the patio is a busy place and I spend lots of time there. Lots of blue birds, humming birds, woodpeckers. wrens. gold finches, doves, you name and they come to the feeders. I find lots of peace and serenity on the patio, especially in the spring and all year long.
Now about the secret.
I had been watching this bird coming through the patio area and around to the front of the house, with something faint in her mouth. OH YES you are smart. she is building her home in the front door wreath. Princess the dog and Tiger the outdoor cat, are aware of this. They miss nothing. I am on guard. So I feel like Sarai (Sarah) in the old Testament having children when she was old. Anything born around my house, I am the mother. Will keep you all posted and be very much on the alert. Just another bird's nest, Susan!!!! Oh but in flowers on my front door.
It's May 21, all is going well. The mama and papa bird are loving, soon to be parents and their little home beautiful and cozy. I am thinking about the uniqueness of God's creation and His loving
provision for His little ones of flight. The Bible says that God know when even a little bird falls. When I think of His tenderness and care for the little birds,I then realize the same Creator is there in my garden, among the cabbage bed, the onions and sweet budding of the soon to be delicious peaches and my heart just jumps for joy. What a great and loving Creator we have to praise.This is the last news report...but will send notices when babies arrive.
