The lighting, the colors, the textures, the geology, the sky all contribute to the drama of DV and make it such a special place. Titus Canyon is a wonderful place to discover these elements as you show so beautifully in this photo.
There is something magical in the color here -- I noticed it as well in my own shot of the same mountains athttp://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/75093384 The colors are very painterly and delicate in both of our shots. The clouds play a dynamic role in both of them as well.
