A surprising treasure in the middle of nowhere, the Amagosa Opera House,
defies my theory of down and out and useless. Here this theater is very much alive,
still showcasing the remarkable dancer Marta Becket of some 87 years of age after
many many years, still with sellout perfomances each week. The inside of the theater
has floor to ceiling mural paintings which seems to take on a life of it's own.

Carol this is amazing.. I lived two years in Beatty Nevada in the early 70's and saw Marta Becket perform here, she was old then, I"m amazed she's still alive and performing..

Your sepia tone adds so much to this scene. It is almost ghostly - and the empty theatre did seem filled with ghosts - which is strange because Marta is still alive and quite literally still kicking.
