This image goes well beyond just technical perfection and aesthetic beauty. I find it a very imaginative photograph, rich in symbolic meaning as well. The translucent orb can be seen only as a well designed lamp, to be sure -- but to me, it goes well beyond such literal representation as that. I see it instead as a symbolic bringing of light to the mind itself. The open portion represents an open mind, the light stands for inspiration. The surrounding darkness symbolizes the unknown. To me, this picture is all about growth, learning, and knowledge.
An extraordinary image, better than most professionals could do. The lighting, I think, could not be better (not a single blown highlight, and you're shooting a bare bulb). Wonderful!
