I really enjoy the b/w conversion - it adds a lot to this image. I also like your composition and treatment. The rain adds wonderful texture as well.

You can almost hear the music and feel the effort here, Carol. The rain helps the image speak -- the surface textures add mood and meaning. The implied motion in the softly focused background helps convey a sense of energy and activity as well. A perfect parade picture, made in miserable weather. You turned adversity here into a wonderfully expressive moment.
