This gallery was created to attempt to separate North American Herring Gull into 'Types" from the large clam event at Revere Beach from Feb. 2021. There were upwards of 20 to 30 thousand gulls and I wanted to record as many 2nd cycle birds as possible.However, I tdid not know how to approach the task. So I decided to split them into light and dark. Since then I have added other individuals. This gallery s the darkest of herring gulls in 2nd cycle. There are a couple which I suspect something else in play and some just have Slaty-backed gull "look" along with dark mantle feathers. But for know those individuals will remain in the pool, or should I say the vast ocean of North American Herring gull.
