Four Years Army

Today I have my four years anniversiry in the Military and the past four years have been without doubt a time of growth. I remember how scared I was four years ago when I went on that bus that took me to a place where I knew I would not be able to get away from for the next four years. Now I signed up for another six years in the Military. Who would have thought that?

Dec 71 I enlisted in the USAF and Dec 00 I retired. I would not trade one day for the friends, comades and teams I spent it with from my own branch to the Army schools I attended and JTF's I worked with with all branches. God Bless and press on...

Congrats to you and continued success. Fifty years ago I had just finished basic and was into my MOS training. I enjoyed the Army and later would think I should have stayed in. That was the time of required military service and I did 6 months active and as it turned out another five years or so in the Reserves before one of the cost cutting drives forced me out. Army basic was the best thing that could have happened to a 18 year old high school graduate.

Congratulations. And, thank you for the time you gave us in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
