Time To Play? / 24 Feb 05

While this little girl had time to play, I had a lack of such. Late night last night and five hours later time to get up again to be gone from home all day long till late this night. I may not find the time to comment much in the next two to three days.

I took this picture for a purpose. I find myself having a hard time taking pictures of people. Maybe because I am afraid that a lady will run after me with her umbrella hitting me because I did not get her concent for taking her pic :) So, this was an attempt to get over the fear, no broken bones so far :0

Neat job with ps Susanne, in terms of taking photos of people, its always nice to ask, but that takes away from the candid, but remember, its okay to take photos of people so long as it is in a public area

Cool effect and a creative way to introduce symmetry into the photo. I'd like to see the whole thing in sepia, leaving the child in color on only one side. It might be cool as well

I know exactly what you mean about taking candids,Susanne. I always feel guilty and uncomfortable when taking them. I've missed out so many good candids because of it! AAArrrgggg!!!! Neat shot!

I love this shot - good result for overcoming your trepidations. I identify with that too - I'm afraid people will almost feel I've taken something _from_them when I take their picture. But I still shoot if it looks interesting.

Nice image, Susanne. Candid/voyeur shots are what I like taking best. They give a peek into someone else's life and you often catch expressions you would never get in a posed shot, no matter how relaxed the person is in having their photo taken. The more you take the shots, the more comfortable you will get. And yes, sometimes, someone will ask what you're doing. It doesn't happen often enough to stop me from taking the photos - my voyeur shots -http://www.pbase.com/donna_lear/ispy andhttp://www.pbase.com/donna_lear/love Keep at it. :)

I know what you mean. It's even more difficult for an older man to take a picture of a child. In fact, I wouldn't even attempt it. But you succeeded wonderfully here. A great idea.

Follow Ira's advice and never be shy about it.
Nice forms and shapes Susanne.

I know what you mean about taking shots of people - you feel a little guilty, and a bit of a voyeur, and that makes it hard to be trul comfortable with taking just any candid shot. But this is nice, and an interesting PS job, too. Hope the work hours get better soon.

Awesome geometric pattern. I never shy away from taking candids.
