Yellow Rose

The other day I asked for some help in desaturation and saturation and so forth and many gave me great advise in how to improve my skills. Tom, thank you for the link as you can see your advise helped very much. I really appreciated your help and I love doing them now, no more frustration!

I'm not sure where the original version is but the lighting is good on this; enough to allow the eye consider the subject properly without overdoing it. If I may say, I think many of the other improved images make the subjects 'burn' too brightly. My advice is to decide whether you want a naturalistic look first (like this one, even though you've used selective desat) and then play with the lighting or decide that you want a certain mood first and under or overexpose as it fits the mood you want. You can do that with static subjects like this.

Very Nice....
Simple compostition and I like the diagonal lines leading back to the color of the rose...
