Anticipating / 10 Dec 04

Taking this picture brought back memories. I am sure some women can relate. You are waiting for "Him". Watching that clock move much slower then usual. Peering out the window and anticipating him to drive up any moment, while cursing all the others who are passing. Absolutely nervous that maybe you will not be able to hold the conversation, or frightened that he will not find you beautiful. Then the headlights shine into your window and you will turn around and act as if you just got done with your prepartion in meeting him. In reality you have stood at that window for an hour in anticpation.

I am not certain if every women does this, but I think most of them do, or at least something similiar.

I'm intrigued! Is it really a common thing for women to do? I couldn't imagine my wife doing that.

Very nice, Susanne. Love the composition, low-key look. Very creative. Commentary is very evocative, too.

Very nice - both the shot and the mood. There is a retro look and feel to it that is very appealing.

Excellent low contrast image, Susanne.. I agree with Dennis on the "40's" feel of this..

I wonder if men do this as well.. this waiting worried about being "right" in as many ways as possible...

The tone gives this a 40's look. I like it.

Nicely done, Suzanne, both the image and commentary. No matter how long it's been, the 'waiting' memories never leave. The uncertainess is haunting and you've displayed that here. Bravo.

Very provocative and insightful. Funny, or maybe sad, how terrifying it can be to reveal ourselves, our needs, desires, insecurities... Men wait at the window too, perhaps in a different guise, but we do.

Very interesting use of underexposure... like the creativity, nicely done.
