Burg Nanstein was the first time mentioned in 1189 and is located near Landstuhl. The Burg was build by Kaiser(Emperor) Barbarossa which was build into a Sandstone. The burg traited ownership numerous times and was eventually owned by the Knight Sicklingen. Sicklingen defended this Burg against the Reich Fuersten and was defeated only two days after taking fire; he died within the burg in 1523 from the fatal injuries. .
