I flew into Lima where I met 9 British birders and our trip leader Jose Antonio. The next day we took a chartered boat around a few Pacific coastal islands, as well as we visited two coastal marshes. The next day we flew to Puerto Maldonado traveling four days by motorized canoe up the Tambopata River into the heart of the Amazonian Rainforest.
We then flew to Cusco for a day exploring the city. The next day we took a private bus deeper into the Andean Mountains along the Manu Road to Cock of the Rock Lodge. After three days birding the Manu Road we headed back to the Sacred Valley and by bus and train arrived at our final destination Machu Picchu.
