I wanted to emphasize the water, so I first brightened the shadows with Kodak Digital Sho Pro, then set layers of a variation of basic outline (adding bri/con with brightness reduced before merging color dodge layer) to different modes and blended them at different opacities. Two of the most important modes used were color burn and color dodge: color dodge flattened the skin, and color burn emphasized the dark lines and added definition and sparkle to the water. Finished with a touch of USM
