We had one of our best attended events to date at Lost Dutchman Saturday evening with a head count of 246 adults, 35 children 1st thru 12th grade,
plus smaller children as well as six dogs. (Attendance data courtesy of Mr. Art Fesler-Butts).
We witnessed an incredible Iridium Flare (Iridium 64) at 7:05pm MST. Comet 46P/Wirtanen was clearly visible, along with the Mars/Uranus conjunction as well as the stand-bys:
M31 (Andromeda Galaxy); M45 (The Pleiades/Seven Sisters); M42, The Orion Nebula and numerous other celestial objects. Weather was clear but not too cold.
Our thanks also to the Lost Dutchman State Park management and volunteer staff for providing this location and support.
