M31 - The Andromeda Galaxy 27-Oct-2014

Taken with an unmodified Canon T4i (650D). 10 - 3 min exposures @ ISO1600.

In a little cooler weather, and perhaps slightly better seeing and tracking, this is probably the final M31 for the year (I keep saying that.)

Equipment configuration:
Explore Scientific ED102 (102mm refractor) with no focal reducer (714mm, f/7). Image scale of 1.24 arc-seconds/pixel. Field of view: 71.5 x 107.2 arc-minutes. Celestron AVX German Equatorial mount. Autoguided with an SBIG STi autoguider (connected to the autoguider port of the Celestron AVX GEM) and a Celestron 2x Barlow attached to an Astro-Tech ED 72mm refractor mounted on an ADM tandem bar. Autoguiding control by PHD2 autoguiding software.

Post processing:
Calibrated in ImagesPlus 5.0 using using 9 dark frames, 12 flat frames, no bias frames. Temperature approx. 70deg F. Aligned, combined and DDP in ImagesPlus 5.0; curves in Nebulosity3. Downsized to 33% in ThumbsPlus 7.
