This window is at the Sonoma Mission, where Native Americans were forcibly converted to catholicism in order to save their souls. Survivors of the physical, cultural and religious enslavement may have felt like prisoners behind these windows of "brooding confinement". The chapel is underexposed to express the dark motives of the European conquerors.
