There is a sense here of the personal aspect of the deaths. I am continually aware of the fact that we as a nation seem to have learned to compartmentalize information and feelings. We rightly go into spasms of grief when 30 students are killed in VA, forgetting that similar things happen in Iraq every day, and hear numbers like 3000+ dead and forget that those men and women leave families that grieve.
