Grand Teton National Park
Many photographers use shortcuts like double exposures in their camera
and/or post processing software to add a full moon to their images.
Several books devote entire chapters on to how to artificially add a full moon to a photo.
But I prefer a more organic technique.
I practiced and scouted for years to get all the conditions: right place at the right time
with a full moon, clear weather, majestic views of the Grand Tetons and flaming autumn aspen leaves.
Capturing the big moment can take a very long time; a fellow photographer visited Yellowstone
for thirteen years before getting one close-up photo of a wild wolf. Preparation had honed his skills;
when the fleeting opportunity came, he was successful.
