Fire on the Firehole River
Dawn on the Upper Geyser Basin, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
Sunrise light transforms steam from a geyser into a primeval fire and reflection.
It was freezing cold and the trails were coated in snow and ice. I wanted to stay in my warm bed.
It took gumption to venture out in the freezing pre-dawn darkness
and even more courage to navigate the icy trail to the river for this experience.
I wouldn't have missed it for anything!
