Afton Arch

On the road to Yellowstone, the town of Afton, Wyoming is famous for its Antler Arch, made of elk antlers.
I found another arch on Main Street, from a gushing public water fountain stuck in the full flow position.
The sight shocked me. Water is a scarce resource, and having spent most of the year under
mandatory water rationing in my community, the waste of water was staggering.

Hopefully the water is recycled and not wasted, although your image can certainly stimulate some "green" conversation. Aside from the environmental issues raised, this arch is a wonderful find and a creative expression of the season.

You have been to Afton like how many times - leave it to you to find a fresh approach to the town of the arch. Aside from the issue of water - I like the color in this image - we get to "wade" through the greys to get to the lush color of the leaves.

Yes, distressing that the water was stuck on "on"! Maybe the leaves were placed to plug up the drain to "save" the water. How fitting though that you find this arch. Nice shot and I also like the water droplets on the leaf.

Okay enough drought already....now, bring on the rain!
