What initially drew us to this scene were the brilliant ferns lining this part of the river,
they really are an incredibly bright green, and of a unique and beautiful shape.
On sunny days, the bright green reflections in the sparkling water make the view breathtaking.
When we returned to the scene in a later year in June and found the wild blue iris in the foreground, it was all the more exciting.
It's a location that would be rarely seen, one of those North Woods secrets.
