Jojo became our dog, when Jed (Mark's nephew gave her to us as a puppy (born Spring 1995)when we got married in June 1995)
Already a strong willed dog, if she got off her leash, she would run all around the neighborhood and not listen to come back. It would take hours for us to catch her.
A beautiful coon dog she was a good watch dog barking at anything.
In the last few years, the vet said the one leison on her foot was a tumor, so it was removed. Also found out Jojo has a murmur when listening to her heart.
In the last months, I noticed Jojo would sometimes staggar about, the vet said it may be mini strokes. And had lost alot of weight.
Yesterday, 8-23-2009, about 1 pm, Sunny was howling and I saw Jojo laying there on the ground, I thought she was dead. But she wasn't and we put her on the wagon and took her over to the tree. Later, Joj got up and made it to the backyard on the playhouse porch and thru the night, I've been keeping an eye on her. It's just a matter of time. I don't see her in alot of pain, just resting and breathing is shallower and can hear the rattle.
This morning, 8-24-2009, Jojo was still alive when I went to check on her. Took water twice for me but the second time, she spit it up with blood.
All day I checked on her, she just lay there and in the later morning, she moved herself off the playhouse porch to the back of the playhouse to lay on the grass.
I called at 5pm to MobiVet, for the vet to come out to look at her at 8pm. but I know the answer already.
I will miss you very much Jojo and so will my kids....
... and Sunny who knew Jojo as his first dog friend and yapped at him in place.
