My step-father, Samuel Myers

"Samuel M. Myers, 88, of Hatfield Twp., passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2009 in the skilled nursing unit of LifeQuest Nursing Center, Milford Twp. He was the husband of 21 years to Lillian Nyce Myers, and the husband of 42 years to the late Ethel M. Myers who died in 1984.

Born in Ottsville, he was a son of the late Samuel C. and Rose (Myers) Myers. He was employed in the production department of Keller’s Creamery in Harleysville for 25 years prior to his retirement in 1986. He was previously employed by Russell Yoder, Yoder Meats, in Franconia and for Tri-County Egg Company in Skippack. During this time he also ran a farmer’s market stand two days a week in Chester for about 20 years. Following his retirement, he worked part-time for Merrill Myers, Myers Heating, and also for I. T. Landes Plumbing and Heating.

Mr. Myers was a member of Calvary Church in Souderton for more than 50 years. In his free time he loved gardening, the outdoors, camping and traveling, and taking walks, especially his morning walks. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Barry Myers of Sellersville, a daughter, Cheryl Mitchell of Sellersville, a stepdaughter, Sue Anne Rush and her husband J. Mark of Perkasie, and a stepson, John Nyce and his wife Rose of Levittown, four grandchildren, four step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sisters: Anna Mae Krammes of Quakertown, Ethel Edmonds and her husband Joe of Maryland, and a brother, Clayton Myers of Pipersville. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 11 AM in the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, 33 N. Main St., Telford. Interment will follow in Calvary Church Cemetery, Souderton. Family will receive friends from 10-11 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Calvary Church, 820 Route 113, Souderton, PA 18964."
