Red-breasted Nuthatch

This little bird flew into one of our windows, then fluttered away briefly
before falling to the ground. He lay on his back until I turned him over.
He sat quite motionless with his eyes closed for several minutes, then began
to move his head a bit and blink his eyes. I was concerned about him being a
target for the neighborhood cats in the state he was in, so gave him a
little nudge...and to my amazement, he flew up into a large Pine Tree.
I think he's going to be ok, and will be looking for him at the feeder
in the next few days.

We have had several incidences of that and so fa all I have survived, I think.

Nice shot. I found a dead sparrow the other day that didn't survive the collision with one of our windows. Glad yours survived.

Windows do cost us lots of birds. Hope the the little critter was just stunned.
