Durga Puja performed in autumn all across the country is possibly the most exciting
event in Kolkata.Apart from being a religious ceremony, Durga Puja is more a social
event, enjoyed by people from all walks of life regardless of their position in the
society.Kolkata being a cosmopolitan metro, people from outside West Bengal but domiciled
in Kolkata are actively involved in this gorgeous socio-religious function. This year the
focus of the Puja had thematic bias.Influence of folk art was noticed in many locations.
At least half a dozen of Corporate houses were sponsoring Awards for Pujas under several
categories.
I am not sure if you would be in Kolkata to click Durga Puja photos this year, but would honestly love to see the Puja pratimas through your lenses, as I did the last 2 years.
Would it be possible for you to click the Idols separately, I mean Durga, lakhmi, saraswati, kartik and ganesh separately. Would love to see Idols of Ekdalia (my fav pujo), Singhi Park, Maddox and Roy Street. I guess you explore more of South than North, if I am not wrong.
