The 605 foot Space Needle was designed as the centerpiece of the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. It was the tallest structure in Seattle at the time. It features an observation deck at 520 feet and the SkyCity restaurant at 500 feet. A 14 foot ring along the windows of the restaurant interior revolves one full turn every 47 minutes allowing the diners to experience a 360 degree view of the City. The structure went through a major renovation in 2000 at the cost of $20 million dollars.
