Located at the western edge of the Maya Mountain range and at the border between Belize and Guatemala in the Chiquibul Forest Reserve, Caracol has the highest handmade structure in Belize, Canna, rising more than 140 feet. This sprawling city with a population of approximately 100,000 was build between 300 BC to 1100 AD and had all levels of society from poor farmers to powerful elite.
