Fawn in the Shadows

Coeur d' Alene, Idaho

While waiting for my daughter to get out of a dentist appointment, I spotted this little one wandering about in an urban green space area. It saddened me to see two more commercial buildings that were under construction within 100 yards of where this photo was captured and would finalize the confinement of this innocent life. This little fawn is growing up in a small triangle of space that was approximately 75yds by 100yds and bordered on all sides by commercial buildings and roads. One being a major interstate that runs from Mexico to Canada only about a block away.

Wonderful image of this darling fawn. Hope it survives in the urban landscape. V.

Nice shot, it is a shame how we keep taking up their space.

Very fine shot .... such an appealing gaze! We have the same problems here with the expansion of suburban sprawl .... a tragedy for some animals. Voted.

What a lovely shot, great the way it is looking straight at you. One wandered into my back garden a couple of weeks ago, but the camera was in the house, so I missed a shot as I just wanted to sit and watch the beautiful creature and did not want to risk scaring it away.
