While driving through Montana I pointed out to my daughters boyfriend Cameron,
a river bank that I told him I always envisioned a black bear being on and getting
the chance to photograph. As it turns out I hadn't driven but about a mile and
there was a black bear with his nose high in the air and chasing a scent that had
his attention. I wasn't able to get a very good image because he was running too fast
but I figured he would reappear further upstream so we beat feet... I got set up and
the bear came out of the trees still searching for the source of the scent. I finally
got him slowed down with a varmint call I had and was able to photograph him when
he came in to investigate the source of the noise.
