Llyn Idwal

North Wales

Last one of this wonderful mountain lake I think.
The people on the other side give a good sense of scale,
really enjoyed the walk around here and up to the Devils Kitchen area.

peaks large and small, and a grey day atmosphere accentuated by the B&W...

I'm glad you pointed out the people. This is a huge area! The clouds are the perfect finishing touch. V

A fine composition with the shape of the foreground rocks echoed by the shape of the mountain ridge. V

Wonderful tones in this landscape, nicley topped by the low clouds. "V"

Indeed it is good to see the folk dwarfed by this majestic place!!

Impressive scenic of the rugged land. Love it in monotone. It really suits this place. V.

My, without those few people on the far side it would be difficult to judge the height and distance captured here, Colin!

A very lovely scene,Colin!
Helen Betts24-Oct-2012 20:41
Excellent landscape shot, and the B&W seems to fit the mood of the place. If you hadn't mentioned the people, I don't think I would have seen them! V.

Great B&W landscape shot. Yes, the people do add scale. The large mountain in the background is Y Garn which I climbed in 2010 taking a path just to the right of the stream in the centre of the picture. Very steep and very hard going!
