As massive as this pier is and even though it is isolated from the
structure, a jump on the floor of the elevated viewing area is still visible in the eyepiece. I suspect
that the vibrations are transfered through the floor, down the walls
into the ground and to the concrete pier...? The metal peir on top contributes
to this vibration too - lesson?...a pier can never be too massive! :-)
