This picture is best viewed in a darkened room
To accurately represent the scene as it looks in real life, this is a simple single 30sec exposure at F3.5 and ISO 2500, from inside the loungeroom, with just the
fire going to provide a subtle red glow. To the naked eye, it looks just like this, minus the colour...certainly a jaw dropping vista from a loungeroom window...!
The glow on the horizon, just under my right arm, is the small (pop. 7000) rural town of Cooma, 55km to the south and 650m below us and is the only sign of civilisation.
The middle pane of the window is darker because it has a flyscreen.
