At 70 million light years away, NGC 578 floats majestically among many other distant galaxies. Small
blue and pink regions scattered along the spiral arms hint at the star forming going on. One background
galaxy (yellow feature left of the galaxy core) seems to protrude up from the arms of NGC 578 but in
reality it is many millions of light years beyond and we are looking at it "through" NGC 578.
