How big is Centaurus A really?

The three fields above are identical in size at approx 1.6deg by 1.2deg all taken under remote
and dark Australian skies using a 6" F7.5 APO refractor and Cooled CCD camera.

The central image represents the depth reached in most images of this galaxy

The image on the left is a deep visible light image composed from nearly 20hrs of LRGB data.

The image on the right is 15hrs of Luminance data enhanced to more clearly reveal the faintest
extremities of the galaxy and the very faint Milky Way dust in the region.

The visible light component of Centaurus A is revealed in this data set to be some 1.4 deg
long X 1.0deg wide which at its distance of 14million lights years corresponds to a diameter
of a wopping 340 000 Light years!
