12/03/2009 - Firefighters from across the state of Massachusetts were recognized during the 60th Annual Firefighter of the Year Awards. This year the ceremony was held in Worcester MA at the Hanover Theater. Firefighters who received awards included firefighters from the Holyoke, Worcester, Boston, Gardner, New Bedford, Bourne, Onset, Marblehead, Randolph, Natick, Barnstable, and Duxbury Fire Departments. The Medal Of Honor was posthumously awarded to Boston Fire Lieutenant Kevin Kelley. The State Fire Marshall's Award for Excellence in Leadership was posthumously awarded to US Senator Edward Kennedy.
