10/30/2009 - Detroit Firefighters responded to 1642 Canton Street for a reported fire in a dwelling. Companies arrived to find heavy fire in a 1.5-sty wood framed vacant dwelling that was next to an occupied similiar. Heavy fire was knocked down, but then traveled through the home as companies needed to call in an extra engine and truck to set up a ladder pipe. The ladder pipe on the first due engine was out of service.
