10/05/2011 - Around 1100 hours on the afternoon the Abington Fire Department recieved calls reporting a house fire at 989 Plymouth Street (Route-58). Companies arrived to find heavy smoke showing from a vacant two story wood framed dwelling. A working fire was requested, followed by a second alarm. Firefighters from Whitman, Rockland, Holbrook, and Brockton assisted Abington on-scene. The Massachusetts State Fire Marshall responded to the scene to investigate.
