09/24/2019 - HOLBROOK, MASSACHUSETTS (NORFOLK COUNTY) - Around 0645 hours on the morning of Tuesday, September 24, 2019 the Holbrook Fire Department responded to a reported fire at 96 Plymouth Street (Route-139). Engine-1 arrived to find smoke showing from the rear of a 2.5-story wood framed occupied dwelling. A working fire was requested bringing mutual aid from Abington, Avon, and Braintree to the scene and to cover. Companies found a fire in the building, near the B-C corner. Crews stretched a pre-connected hand line and were able to quickly knock down the fire. The first arriving company was low on manpower due to Holbrook providing mutual aid to Randolph for a fire in their community, which occurred a little earlier in the morning. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Massachusetts State Fire Marshal's office was requested to respond to the scene. No injuries were reported.
