09/11/2011 - The Whitman Police Department held a dedication for their new police station at 20 Essex Steet. The building was built in the place of the old Holt School, which served at one time as the high school. The new, state of the art police station takes the place of the old, out-dated, cramped police station that was held in the basement of the Town Hall, on Whitman Ave. The photos from the ground breaking ceremony, that was held on May 5, 2010, can be seen here.
