09/11/2008 - Whitman Fire Chief Timothy P. Travers celebrated his final day of work on Thursday, September 11th after 35 years of service to the town of Whitman. The new fire chief, Timothy Grenno, held an open house at the firehouse for well wishers to come and say goodbye to the Chief. At 4PM, firefighters lined the ramp and saluted as the chief went home from the firehouse for the last time. The new chief, Timothy Grenno and new lieutenant Timothy Clancy were sworn-in to their new positions. A more formal swearing in ceremony will be held soon.
